Emotionally Focused therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy in a nutshell…

*EFT is a structured, short-term, emotionally-focused therapy approach which was developed in the early 80’s by Les Greenberg and Sue Johnson. Research studies support the effectiveness of EFT: 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and almost 90% show significant improvements.

*EFT is based on clear models of marital distress and adult love. These concepts draw on research-based insights into interpersonal neurobiology, specifically regarding attachment, connection and emotion.

*EFT provides a safe, secure therapy environment which allows for reorganizing and expanding key emotional responses – the music of the connection and attachment dance.

*EFT supports a shift in the way in which couples connect with each other, working towards a secure bond between partners.

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic ’til I’m gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
